Lake of Stars Festival Returns to Malawi for 20th Anniversary
The iconic Lake of Stars Malawi Arts Festival is making a return for its 20th anniversary edition from September 6-8, 2024. Coinciding with the 60th anniversary of Malawi's independence, this year's festival aims to celebrate the nation's rich cultural heritage at the picturesque Fish Eagle Bay Lodge on the shores of Lake Malawi.
“The return of the flagship arts festival is thrilling,” stated Humphrey Mpondaminga, Director of Arts in the Ministy of Local Government. The festival will showcase top global and local talent, shining an international spotlight on Malawian artists as it has since its 2004 inception.
Hailed for promoting cultural exchange and generating millions for Malawi's tourism industry, the 2024 edition promises an unparalleled experience of music, arts and natural beauty. Early bird tickets went on sale April 12 at outlets across Malawi for this highly anticipated celebration of Malawian culture on the world stage.
