Kruger imposes gate quotas amid rain damage – multiple routes closed

Kruger National Park has implemented a gate quota system with immediate effect following overnight rainfall that further damaged roads and infrastructure. Quotas apply at Malelane, Numbi and Paul Kruger gates, with Open Safari Vehicles included, and visitors are advised to ensure vehicles are fuelled as camp filling stations may be affected. Essential delivery vehicles, officials and airport transfers – with proof of a valid flight ticket – will be allowed entry via Paul Kruger Gate only.

The Skukuza – Phabeni route is closed after flooding cut the S1, making Phabeni Gate inaccessible from Skukuza. Orpen Gate remains closed until further notice, and all northern gates are shut as the area is inaccessible. SANParks is monitoring conditions and will issue updates as the situation develops.
