Kenya Tourism Board Partners with Tatler to Boost Luxury Travel Profile
The Kenya Tourism Board (KTB) has entered into a three-year partnership with British luxury lifestyle publication Tatler to profile and recognise hotels and restaurants setting the standard for hospitality excellence across Africa. The collaboration will culminate in the inaugural Tatler Best Africa awards on 8 October 2026, held during the 16th edition of the Magical Kenya Travel Expo (MKTE) in Nairobi. The partnership aims to position Kenya within the international luxury travel ecosystem, spotlighting its premium offering across safari, coast, conservation, culture, gastronomy, wellness and MICE tourism, while connecting KTB with key luxury trade platforms including ILTM Cannes, Arabian Travel Market and PURE Life Experiences.
Tourism Principal Secretary Prof. Julius Bitok highlighted the MICE dimension of the partnership, noting that Kenya attracted over 736,000 delegates and generated more than KSh 11 billion in direct revenue in 2025. KTB Chief Executive Officer June Chepkemei said the partnership creates a direct bridge between Kenya's tourism businesses and international markets. Tatler Africa Managing Director Bonita Mutoni described Kenya as a natural first destination partner for the initiative, citing its world-class hospitality and iconic landscapes. Tatler's presence across eleven Asian markets is expected to provide an additional avenue for Kenya to diversify its source markets, while training programmes focused on luxury service standards, destination storytelling and digital communications will form part of the broader partnership.
