Kenya Targets 5.5 Million Tourists by 2027 Through Public-Private Collaboration

Kenya aims to attract 5.5 million international visitors annually by 2027 as part of a new strategy led by the Ministry of Tourism and Wildlife in partnership with the Kenya Association of Hotelkeepers and Caterers (KAHC). The plan was unveiled during a consultative meeting in Nairobi, where stakeholders pledged stronger collaboration to drive growth across tourism segments, particularly Meetings, Incentives, Conferences and Exhibitions (MICE), as well as wellness, sports, and digital nomad tourism.

The Kenya Tourism Board underscored the importance of joint efforts to enhance the country’s global visibility and competitiveness. In 2023, Kenya recorded 2.4 million tourist arrivals, marking a 14.6 percent increase year-on-year.
