Kenya Airways Welcomes Boeing 737-800 to Growing Fleet

Kenya Airways has expanded its fleet with the addition of a Boeing 737-800, bringing its total aircraft count to 35. The 170-seat jet, acquired from Dubai Aerospace Enterprise (DAE), aligns with the airline’s ongoing fleet expansion strategy aimed at increasing capacity and improving operational efficiency. The move comes as Kenya Airways continues to strengthen its network and enhance connectivity across key routes, catering to the rising demand for air travel in Africa and beyond.

The airline’s CEO, Allan Kilavuka, stated that the new aircraft supports Kenya Airways’ long-term growth objectives and its turnaround strategy, Project Kifaru 2. The airline is actively exploring further fleet expansion opportunities through strategic partnerships, focusing on both narrow and wide-body models to enhance seat capacity and efficiency. This latest acquisition signals Kenya Airways’ commitment to growth despite global aviation challenges and reinforces its position as a key player in Africa’s aviation market.
