Jambojet Suspends Mombasa - Zanzibar Route 

Jambojet has suspended its direct flights between Mombasa and Zanzibar, citing surging fuel costs and Zanzibar's mandatory travel insurance requirement as factors rendering the route commercially unviable. The decision marks a setback for direct air connectivity between the two East African coastal destinations. 

The Kenyan low-cost carrier has since redirected capacity by launching daily flights between Nairobi and Entebbe, signalling a strategic pivot toward routes with stronger commercial prospects. The suspension underscores the ongoing pressure facing regional carriers as rising operational costs and destination-specific regulatory requirements continue to challenge route viability across Africa.
