Italian Airline Neos Launches Scheduled Flights to Kilimanjaro International Airport
Italian airline Neos has launched scheduled weekly flights to Kilimanjaro International Airport (KIA) in northern Tanzania, bringing the total number of international airlines operating through the airport to 16. The new Wednesday service is expected to strengthen air connectivity between Tanzania and European markets, supporting tourism access to key northern circuit attractions including Mount Kilimanjaro, Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Conservation Area and Tarangire National Park.
KIA Director Eng Rehema Myeya described the launch as an important milestone in the airport's growth as a gateway for international visitors, while KIA Marketing and Research Manager Zefrin Lubuva noted the route would benefit hotels, tour operators, transport providers and local communities. Neos Station Manager in Zanzibar, Antonella Balestra, highlighted Tanzania's supportive investment environment as a factor in the airline's continued presence in the country, where it has operated for more than two decades. The new service adds further momentum to Tanzania's broader efforts to expand aviation links and increase visitor arrivals to its northern tourism corridor.
