Introducing the Porini Safari Cottages

Gamewatchers safaris & Porini Safari Camps are excited to announce the launch of the Porini Ol Kinyei Safari Cottages in The Ol Kinyei Conservancy, Maasai Mara Kenya.

The 4 four-bedroom high end safari cottages are on a hillside location with spectacular views over the open plains below and have been developed with each cottage directly protecting over 1,400 acres of habitat and paying for the management of that habitat while also creating over 5 permanent community member jobs in addition to other benefits.

The cottages offer a unique “home away from home” experience with stunning views across the Mara in the only IUCN Green List Protected area in the Mara eco-system with some of the highest big cat densities and close to the location of the annual Loita wildebeest calving every year in February and March, your guides are local community members who know this land intimately.

The design is open yet practical – to ‘fit in’ with the surrounds and ethos of a conservation minded development, giving a closeness to nature without compromising comfort and functionality. The cottages feature a wildlife dam below which is a big draw for wildlife including the numerous plains game, elephants and even lions. The cottages are designed to maximize on these views whilst minimizing the visual impact from the plains.

Each Cottage has four spacious bedrooms, all with private bathrooms en-suite, an outdoor shower, a central area with a dining and bar area and lounge with a fireplace for the cold evenings. Each cottage also has a media room for reviewing and editing the day’s photographs, for kids to have a place to unwind, remote working…and so much more. A private fire pit to enjoy sun downers and share stories of the day is a short walk from each cottage. Each Cottage has its own kitchen located behind the main building and its own private chef
