Industry veteran Darryl Erasmus appointed as SA Tourism's new COO
South African Tourism (SA Tourism) has appointed Darryl Erasmus as its Chief Operations Officer, effective January 7, 2025, leveraging his extensive expertise in tourism and hospitality to drive operational excellence.
Erasmus, who previously served as SA Tourism's Chief Quality Assurance Officer, returns to the organisation with significant industry experience, including senior positions at Travelport, Protea Hotels, and Intercontinental Hotels. "This appointment will strengthen our management structures and contribute to driving our strategic objectives forward, while improving our destination's competitiveness," said SA Tourism CEO Nombulelo Guliwe.
Erasmus holds a Bachelor of Commerce in Marketing and Business Management from Oxford Brooks University and is completing a Postgraduate Diploma in Business Studies at Henley Business School. His appointment was approved by the SA Tourism board in December 2024.
