Improved Connectivity and Marketing to Boost Zimbabwe Tourism in 2025

Zimbabwe's tourism sector is set for significant growth in 2025, driven by enhanced air connectivity and aggressive marketing efforts, according to Tourism and Hospitality Secretary Dr Takaruza Munyanyiwa. Recent infrastructure upgrades at R. G. Mugabe International Airport and Victoria Falls International Airport are expected to attract more international airlines, complementing an increase in global air travel. Uganda Airlines, which launched its Harare-Entebbe route in September 2024, joins existing carriers such as Kenya Airways, Ethiopian Airlines, Qatar Airways, Emirates, and South African Airways in connecting tourists to Zimbabwe's key destinations.
Dr Munyanyiwa highlighted efforts to extend the average tourist stay from three to six days through targeted promotions and participation in major international travel events, including World Travel Market (WTM) and ITB Berlin, as well as key events in the United States. These initiatives aim to boost Zimbabwe’s global visibility and position the country as a premier tourism destination, leveraging improved connectivity and strengthened industry partnerships to attract a larger share of international travellers.
