Hospitality Think Tank to Address Geopolitics, AI and Climate Risk
The fourth annual Hospitality Industry Think Tank is set to take place on 31 July 2026 at Emperors Palace, Johannesburg, under the theme "Oracle: A Senate of Visionaries Shaping the Future Together." Launched by Dream Hotels & Resorts in 2023, the event has grown into a prominent fixture on the hospitality calendar, this year expanding to a larger venue to accommodate rising demand from industry leaders across Southern Africa.
The 2026 agenda will tackle pressing issues, including the economic impact of the Ukraine and Gulf conflicts, shifting trade tariffs pushing Southern Africa's trade relationships eastward, AI and technology adoption, climate risk and sustainability, and the role of industry associations ahead of South Africa's upcoming Municipal Elections. A keynote address by Johnny Goldberg, Chairman of Global Business Solutions, will focus on entrepreneurial leadership. All proceeds from the event benefit Touching Dreams, a non-profit supporting community development and the Think Big Academy, which trains people from disadvantaged communities for careers in hospitality. The day concludes with an Oracle-themed Gala Dinner, featuring headline act Jesse Clegg, with proceeds directed to Reach for a Dream, the Endangered Wildlife Trust, and the Touching Dreams Think Big Academy.
