GVI Closes After 28 Years as Volunteer Travel Organisation Enters Liquidation

Global Vision International (GVI) has confirmed the closure of all its current and future programmes, with the organisation entering a formal liquidation process. The announcement was made in an official press statement on 2 July 2026, marking the end of one of the most recognised names in international volunteer travel, conservation and community development after nearly three decades of operation.

The closure is expected to have a significant impact across several connected sectors, including conservation travel, gap year and educational travel, volunteer tourism, and community-based field projects. All GVI programmes have been cancelled, with staff on the ground assisting participants in departing field bases. Affected participants are set to receive formal correspondence outlining the claims process, while suppliers and partners will be notified directly by appointed liquidators.
