Gulf Air has resumed direct flights between Bahrain and Nairobi, re-establishing a key air link to East Africa after a 13-year hiatus. The relaunch was marked by an inaugural dinner hosted by the Kenya Association of Travel Agents (KATA) on 18 June at Nairobi’s Radisson Blu Hotel. The new service, operated by Airbus A320neo aircraft, offers five weekly flights, enhancing connectivity between Kenya and the broader Gulf region.

The return of Gulf Air is expected to boost tourism, trade, and business travel, with regional travel agents gaining expanded access to the airline’s global network across the Middle East, Asia, and Europe. KATA highlighted the route’s value in positioning Nairobi as a growing aviation hub, supporting East Africa’s travel industry recovery and unlocking fresh opportunities for tour operators to develop new itineraries for both leisure and corporate clients.
