Manda is a charming boutique hotel nestled on the northern tip of Manda Island within Kenya's Lamu archipelago. This privately owned sanctuary offers an unspoilt, secluded escape where you can unwind, surrounded by palm-thatched cottages and open living spaces. A totally unique blend of bush and beach here you can experience the pristine white sands, coconut palms, Doum palms and Acacia Tortilis, alongside diverse wildlife and birdlife from the resident buffalos to bushbuck and baboons.

Conservation & Community
Since Manda was established by the Roberts and Dyer families they have focused a huge amount of time, money and effort into what they believe are the fundamentals of good tourism in Kenya – Investment in the resident wildlife and nature on Manda and the empowerment of the local communities which are employed by Manda.
In 2021, the Ocean Trust was formed and has based itself at Manda Bay forming a great partnership with the lodge; starting a pilot project to showcase a method of using reef stars to grow and restore a reef with the aim of teaching communities along the East African coast how to replicate the method for their own benefit.
Through employment, the lodge supports almost 100 households directly and many more indirectly thanks to a policy of prioritising local suppliers and service providers. From woodwork to linens, thatched roofs and doormats. Most of what you see around the lodge has been produced right there in the Lamu archipelago.
