As Zambia's tourism sector continues to grow, recording approximately 2.3 million international arrivals in 2025, Green Safaris is celebrating a decade of contributing to sustainable tourism development across the region.

Speaking at the company's 10th Anniversary Celebration, Director of Human Resources and Administration Vivian Ndlovu, on behalf of the Ministry of Tourism Permanent Secretary Mr Evans Muhanga, commended Green Safaris for its commitment to renewable energy, conservation, education initiatives, and community partnerships.

"Green Safaris has demonstrated that tourism development and conservation can progress together. This approach strongly aligns with the vision of the Ministry of Tourism to build a tourism sector that is sustainable, inclusive, competitive, and a key driver of national development," she said.

Zambia Tourism Agency Acting CEO Abigail Shansonga highlighted the growing importance of sustainability in travel, noting that global tourism trends increasingly favour responsible tourism experiences.

"Operators such as Green Safaris demonstrate how tourism can create value beyond visitor experiences by supporting conservation, creating employment, strengthening local economies, and protecting the natural assets upon which our industry depends," she said.

Reflecting on the company's journey, Green Safaris Founder Vincent Kouwenhoven noted that the business has expanded across Zambia and Malawi while remaining committed to conservation and community impact.

"Through these initiatives, over US$410,000 was mobilised in 2025 towards conservation, education, and community development programmes across Zambia," he said.

Founded in 2015, Green Safaris operates eight lodges and camps across Zambia and Malawi, including the iconic Livingstone Island experience. The company continues to champion a model where exceptional hospitality, conservation, and community development work hand in hand.
