On September 2, 3, and 4, the Grand Hotel Djibloho was the epicenter of the bilateral meeting between Equatorial Guinea and Gabon, held in a climate of constructive dialogue and mutual cooperation. The official delegations of both countries held a joint session to advance the implementation of the ruling issued by the International Court of Justice (ICJ) on May 19, 2025, regarding sovereignty over the Mbañe, Cocoteros, and Conga Islands, as well as the delimitation of land and maritime borders.

The meeting was chaired by His Excellency Mr. Simeón Oyono Esono Angue, Minister of State for Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Diaspora, representing Equatorial Guinea, and His Excellency Mr. Dieudonné Aba'a Owono, President of the Transitional Constitutional Tribunal, representing Gabon.

The Grand Hotel Djibloho established itself as the nerve center of the bilateral meeting, hosting both the working sessions and the official delegations throughout their stay.

The meeting rooms, equipped with modern technology and functional layouts, provided appropriate conditions for the technical and plenary sessions. The accommodation and personalized service contributed to the smooth organization of the event, confirming the venue’s suitability for high-level official meetings in the Republic of Equatorial Guinea.

Both delegations reaffirmed their commitment to respect for international law, the peaceful implementation of the ICJ ruling, and the strengthening of bilateral relations. During the working sessions, they discussed the mechanisms and timelines for its implementation, emphasizing their willingness to move forward in an orderly and consensual manner.

The delegations also praised the quality of the organization and the hospitality provided by the Grand Hotel Djibloho, reaffirming its status as a leading venue for high-level institutional meetings in Central Africa.

The meeting concluded with an official group photo, reflecting the atmosphere of respect and cooperation that characterized the day. As a symbolic closing, the traditional cake cutting took place, a gesture of fraternity between both parties.
