Gondwana Lodges Plant 195 Indigenous Trees Across Namibia

Namibia’s Gondwana Collection planted 195 indigenous trees across its properties during September to mark Sustainability Month. The initiative, known as the Gondwana Tree-a-Thon, involved staff and community partnerships at lodges nationwide, including participation from Gondwana’s Windhoek office and the Gondwana Care Trust.
The trees – sourced from Gondwana’s nurseries – were carefully selected to suit local ecosystems across various regions, from camelthorn and marula in the drier landscapes to waterberry and bird plum in the wetter Zambezi region. Collaborations with local conservancies and community foundations added further environmental and social impact, reinforcing the group’s ongoing commitment to biodiversity and sustainability in Namibian tourism.
