The GTA, under the Ministry of Tourism, Culture and Creative Arts, has launched the 2025 Heritage Month, an annual celebration aimed at showcasing Ghana’s cultural heritage, creative industries, and domestic tourism. The launch, held on 3rd March 2025 at Labadi Beach Hotel, Accra, brought together industry stakeholders, including the Ghana Tourism Federation (GHATOF), Ghana Hotels Association, and tourism leaders. Timed to coincide with Ghana’s Independence celebrations on 6th March, Heritage Month features festivals, food fairs, arts, crafts, and music events to highlight the economic and social value of preserving national heritage.

A key highlight is the "Black Star Experience", a government-led initiative positioning Ghana as the gateway to Africa for the global diaspora through curated cultural, historical, and creative arts experiences. Events such as the Heritage Caravan, Ghana Music Month, Akwaaba Festival, and Taste 68 @ 68 Food Fair will boost domestic tourism and investment. GTA CEO Maame Efua Houadjeto urged businesses to integrate Ghanaian culture into hospitality and tourism services, while also promoting local textiles, food, and music. With a strong focus on heritage and identity, Heritage Month 2025 is set to strengthen Ghana’s tourism economy and create new opportunities for growth.
