Ghana Launches First Tourism Promotion Drive in Czech Republic

Ghana’s Embassy in the Czech Republic has hosted its first major tourism promotion event in Prague, aiming to boost the country’s visibility in Central Europe. The high-level initiative, held at Malostranská beseda, brought together more than 30 Czech tour operators, government officials, and tourism stakeholders from both nations. Organised in partnership with the Ghana Tourism Authority (GTA), the event showcased Ghana’s cultural and heritage attractions, including UNESCO sites, festivals, and beach destinations, as part of a drive to attract travellers from emerging European markets.

Led by Ambassador Doris Adzo Denyo Brese, with representation from GTA’s Deputy CEO Gilbert Abeiku Aggrey, the event included presentations on two flagship campaigns—“December in Ghana” and “The Black Star Experience.” A performance by the University of Ghana Dance Ensemble highlighted Ghana’s culture, while practical information on travel and visas was also shared. This campaign marks Ghana’s first direct tourism marketing effort in the Czech Republic and sets the stage for similar engagements across Central and Eastern Europe, with plans to expand into Poland and beyond.
