Four major airlines resume flights to Seychelles
Tourism Seychelles has announced the resumption of flights by four major international airlines, significantly enhancing the island nation's connectivity with key European markets. This development is expected to reinvigorate the country's tourism sector by offering visitors more convenient travel options.
Condor and Edelweiss Air will restart weekly flights on 21st and 22nd September 2024, respectively. Aeroflot will resume twice-weekly services from 2nd October, while Turkish Airlines will return on 28th October with four flights per week.
Additionally, Seychelles is expanding its global reach with a new direct charter flight from Chengdu, China, operated by Sichuan Airlines, set to commence in late 2024.
Bernadette Willemin, Director General for Destination Marketing at Tourism Seychelles, expressed enthusiasm about the developments, stating they will allow more travellers to experience the islands' unique offerings. She also revealed ongoing negotiations with additional airline partners to further improve accessibility.
These efforts underscore Seychelles' commitment to maintaining its status as a premier global travel destination, with the tourism body actively working to diversify its visitor base and strengthen its position in the international tourism market.
