FlyGabon Expands Fleet with Airbus A320 and New ATR 42-600

FlyGabon, the recently launched Gabonese airline, has added its first Airbus A320 and a new ATR 42-600 to its growing fleet, marking a significant development in the country’s aviation sector. The 126-seat A320 will operate on the Libreville–Johannesburg route and was formally received at a ceremony in late July attended by Gabon’s president, Brice Oligui Nguema, highlighting its role in revitalising national air transport nearly 20 years after the collapse of Air Gabon.

The airline, operated under Afrijet Business Service, now has a fleet of seven aircraft, including five ATR 72-600s. The new ATR 42-600 turboprop, delivered under a long-term lease from regional lessor TrueNoord, will primarily serve domestic and remote routes. Another ATR 42-600 is due in 2026, completing a fleet renewal strategy aimed at improving connectivity across Gabon and into key regional destinations.
