FedAir to launch daily Lowveld lodge shuttle from May 2026
Federal Airlines (FedAir) will expand its shuttle operations in South Africa’s Lowveld from mid‑May 2026, introducing a daily six‑aircraft schedule linking most leading lodge airstrips with Kruger Mpumalanga International, Skukuza and Hoedspruit airports. The schedule went on sale on 17 November 2025 and is intended to streamline safari transfers by reducing ground travel and limiting flights to no more than two stops.
To support the rollout, FedAir will add two new Cessna Caravan EX aircraft by the end of Q1 2026 in an investment exceeding $7.3 million and will open new lounge facilities at the three Lowveld airports. The airline will introduce zonal fares for Lowveld travel and a new X‑Class fare allowing one large hardshell bag up to 32 kg, limited to four seats per flight, alongside a new reservation platform due in Q1 2026; existing Johannesburg and regional lodge services continue unchanged.
