Fastjet Zimbabwe Named Official Airline Partner of the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon
Fastjet Zimbabwe has been announced as the Official Airline Partner of the Econet Victoria Falls Marathon, scheduled for 5 July 2026. Now in its latest edition, the event has attracted over 5,000 runners from more than 40 countries and is firmly established on the global marathon calendar. Fastjet, which has served the Victoria Falls route for over a decade, will activate its partnership on the course through a branded water point at the iconic Big Tree - dubbed "the Big Tree Runway" - offering runners music, cheers, and refreshments. The airline will also host a pop-up booth in Victoria Falls on 4 July ahead of race day.
Fastjet Zimbabwe spokesperson Nunurai Ndawana described Victoria Falls as strategically important to the airline's network, connecting the destination to Bulawayo, Harare, Johannesburg, and Kruger Mpumalanga. "This partnership underscores our ongoing commitment to support the growth and development of tourism in Zimbabwe and across the region," he said. Econet Wireless Chief Commercial and Products Officer Edith Matekaire, whose company has been the marathon's headline sponsor since 2009, welcomed fastjet as "a proudly Zimbabwean airline that shares our commitment to connecting people with remarkable destinations."
