Namibia’s Ministry of Environment and Tourism has delivered two new trucks to Etosha National Park to strengthen anti-poaching operations and improve infrastructure management. The vehicles — a Mercedes-Benz Dropside Truck and a Powerstar Water Tank Truck — were procured through the Game Products Trust Fund at a combined cost of N$7 million and will support patrols, road and fence repairs, firebreak creation, and general park upkeep.

Speaking at the handover ceremony, Environment Minister Indileni Daniel emphasised the trucks’ crucial role in maintaining Etosha’s conservation and tourism infrastructure. The water tanker will assist anti-poaching patrols by supplying vital resources in remote areas, while the dropside truck will be used in logistics and maintenance. The vehicles may also be deployed to support other national parks and protected areas around the country. Staff have been urged to ensure the vehicles are used responsibly to safeguard park assets and enhance long-term sustainability.
