Ethiopian Airlines Unveils New, State-of-the-Art Aviation Facilities
Ethiopian Airlines has unveiled a $150 million investment in new aviation infrastructure, including advanced hangars, a modern Aircraft Component Shop, and a high-capacity Aircraft Parts Store. Inaugurated on 22 July in Addis Ababa, the facilities were completed within two years and are part of the airline’s Vision 2035 strategy to expand its Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) capabilities, supporting fleet growth and strengthening its position as Africa’s leading airline.
The development is expected to enhance the airline’s technical operations while contributing to national and regional economic growth through job creation and technological advancement. At the launch event, attended by senior government and industry representatives, Ethiopian Airlines leadership underscored their commitment to innovation and pan-African progress. The facilities are intended to position Ethiopia as a key aviation hub in Africa, offering high-quality maintenance services and fostering skills development within the sector.
