Ethiopian Airlines to Restart Addis Ababa – Atlanta Route in May
Ethiopian Airlines is set to resume its direct service between Addis Ababa Bole International Airport and Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on 21 May 2026, following a temporary suspension of the route since February 2026. The revival restores a key transatlantic link between Africa and the United States, catering to business travellers, tourists, and members of the African diaspora community.
Atlanta, home to one of the largest African diaspora populations in the US, serves as a major economic and cultural hub and offers onward connectivity across the southeastern United States. The reinstated route will allow passengers seamless access to Ethiopian Airlines' extensive African network via Addis Ababa. Group CEO Mesfin Tasew described Atlanta as "one of the most vibrant markets in the United States," adding that the route addresses growing demand from business and leisure travellers seeking convenient access to destinations across the African continent. Tickets are available via the airline's website, mobile app, global ticket offices, and authorised travel agents.
