Ethiopian Airlines Launches New Hyderabad Service, Boosting Tourism Flow Between Africa and India

Ethiopian Airlines has launched a new passenger route to Hyderabad, India, expanding its India network to six destinations. The thrice-weekly service commenced on 16 June 2025, with flights operating from Addis Ababa to Hyderabad on Mondays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays, and return flights on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays. The new route underscores Ethiopian’s commitment to strengthening air connectivity between Africa and India, enhancing both trade and tourism flows between the two regions.
Group CEO Mesfin Tasew stated the new route will play a key role in linking Africa more closely with India, while supporting demand for business and leisure travel. Ethiopian Airlines already operates over 50 weekly services to Delhi, Mumbai, Bengaluru, Ahmedabad and Chennai, and the addition of Hyderabad is expected to improve options for travellers across both continents. With its growing international reach and modern fleet, Ethiopian continues to reinforce its position as a key player in Africa-Asia connectivity.
