Ethiopian Airlines Adds Port Harcourt to Its Nigeria Network
Ethiopian Airlines is set to launch scheduled passenger services to Port Harcourt, Nigeria, from 1 December 2026, marking its fifth destination in the country. The four-times-weekly service — operating on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays — will connect Port Harcourt's Omagwa International Airport to the airline's hub in Addis Ababa, with onward access to its global network spanning Africa, Europe, Asia, the Middle East, and the Americas.
Port Harcourt is one of Nigeria's key commercial and industrial centres, serving as a major gateway to the country's energy sector. The new route builds on Ethiopian Airlines' longstanding presence in Nigeria, where it has operated since 1960, and complements existing services to Lagos, Abuja, Kano, and Enugu. Group CEO Mesfin Tasew noted that the expansion reflects the airline's commitment to supporting Nigeria's economic development through improved air connectivity, with the route expected to strengthen trade, tourism, and business links across the region.
