Ethiopia Inaugurates Arba Minch Conference Resort to Strengthen MICE and Leisure Tourism
Ethiopia has officially opened the Arba Minch Conference Resort, a new hospitality development in the southern city of Arba Minch designed to bolster the country's MICE sector and broaden its tourism offering. The resort features 85 luxury guestrooms - including two presidential suites - and a conference centre with capacity for more than 1,300 delegates, positioning it as one of Ethiopia's primary venues for meetings, incentives, conferences and exhibitions.
Set against the backdrop of Lakes Abaya and Chamo and the nearby Nech Sar National Park, the resort also offers floating restaurants, wellness facilities, landscaped gardens and cultural experiences celebrating Ethiopia's heritage. Tourism officials expect the development to enhance Arba Minch's capacity to host major national and international events, create local employment and stimulate surrounding businesses. The opening forms part of Ethiopia's broader strategy to develop world-class tourism infrastructure, diversify its visitor offering and strengthen its position as an emerging African destination for both business and cultural travel.
