The Emirates Airline Group is driving international attention to Uganda’s growing tourism sector, highlighting the country’s unique equatorial charm and iconic attractions. A delegation of representatives from countries including Vietnam, Indonesia, India, and the UK visited Uganda to promote its offerings to global audiences. Welcomed by President Yoweri Museveni, the group explored top destinations such as Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, the Rwenzori Mountains, and Murchison Falls. The initiative marks Emirates’ 25th year of operations in Uganda and underscores its commitment to promoting emerging destinations through global connectivity.

The country registered over 1.7 million visitors in 2023, generating $1.6 billion in revenue, with tourism remaining a critical pillar of Uganda’s economy. Emirates’ engagement is expected to boost its visibility further, especially with iconic attractions like Lake Victoria and Uganda’s rich biodiversity. The partnership also aligns with broader efforts to position Uganda as a key tourism destination, aided by global collaborations with stakeholders including the Uganda Tourism Board. A concurrent focus on security, infrastructure, and hospitality is expected to enhance Uganda's competitiveness in attracting international travellers.
