EgyptAir to Launch Direct Flights to Los Angeles and Chicago in 2026

EgyptAir has announced plans to expand its transatlantic network with the launch of direct flights from Cairo to Los Angeles and Chicago in 2026. The new long-haul routes, currently pending regulatory approval from the US Department of Transportation, are set to begin in May and June respectively, marking a significant step in the airline’s North American growth strategy.

The services will be operated using EgyptAir's new Airbus A350-900 aircraft, part of a broader fleet modernisation programme aimed at enhancing passenger comfort and fuel efficiency. The routes respond to increasing demand for non-stop options between Egypt and the US, boosting both tourism and bilateral trade. Initial operations are expected to run three to four times weekly, with potential for daily service as demand builds.
