Edelweiss to Launch Seasonal Flights from Zurich to Windhoek in Summer 2026
Edelweiss, Switzerland’s leading leisure airline, has announced it will begin seasonal services to Namibia from 1 June 2026. The new route will operate twice weekly—on Mondays and Fridays—between Zurich and Windhoek and will run through to the end of October. The flights will be operated using the modern Airbus A350, known for its fuel efficiency and passenger comfort.
Namibia will become Edelweiss’ fourth long-haul destination in southern and eastern Africa, joining Cape Town, Kilimanjaro and Zanzibar. The route opens further opportunities for European travellers to explore Namibia’s diverse offerings—from the iconic dunes of the Namib Desert to the wildlife of Etosha National Park. The new connection reflects growing demand for unique, nature-based tourism experiences and enhances access to one of southern Africa’s most scenic and remote destinations.
