Edelweiss Air to Add Third Weekly Zürich-Windhoek Flight from July 2026

Swiss leisure carrier Edelweiss Air is set to increase its direct service between Zürich and Windhoek to three flights per week from 15 July 2026, up from twice-weekly operations resuming on 1 June. The route will be operated using the Airbus A350-900, and forms part of a broader Lufthansa Group offering that - when combined with sister carrier Discover Airlines - will provide a total of 13 weekly direct flights between Europe and Namibia.

The expanded schedule offers travel trade professionals greater flexibility when building Namibia itineraries for European clients, with Zürich serving as a convenient hub for connections from Germany, Austria, France, Italy and the United Kingdom. The frequency boost coincides with Namibia's peak dry season from July to October, when wildlife viewing conditions are at their best and international demand is highest. The additional capacity is expected to improve seat availability and support inbound tourism across key destinations including Etosha National Park, Sossusvlei, Swakopmund and the Skeleton Coast.
