Dzifa Gomashie Named Ghana’s Tourism Minister-Designate
Ghanaian President John Mahama has appointed Dzifa Abla Gomashie as the minister-designate for Tourism, Culture, and Creative Arts. Currently serving as the Member of Parliament for Ketu South, Gomashie brings significant experience to the role, having previously served as Deputy Minister for the same portfolio during Mahama's earlier administration. Her appointment is subject to vetting and approval by Parliament.
Once confirmed, Gomashie will oversee Ghana’s growing tourism and creative arts sector, which has gained momentum in recent years through initiatives like the ‘Year of Return’ and ‘Beyond the Return’. These programmes have positioned Ghana as a premier destination for heritage tourism, attracting significant international interest and contributing to the sector's development. Her leadership is anticipated to build on this success, driving further growth and global recognition.
