Durban – Réunion direct flights to launch in February 2026

Global Airways, in collaboration with Fly Vetiv’Air and the Durban Direct route‑development committee, will introduce non‑stop flights between Durban’s King Shaka International Airport and Réunion’s Saint‑Pierre Pierrefonds Airport from 26 February 2026. The service forms part of KwaZulu‑Natal’s strategy to restore international connectivity and boost visitor numbers and trade between the destinations.

Officials say the route will stimulate two‑way tourism and cargo flows, supported by Dube TradePort’s airfreight facilities, with potential expansion to Mauritius under consideration. The partners expect the link to create new business opportunities for aviation, hospitality and logistics, strengthening Durban’s position as a gateway city and improving regional access for travellers.
