Crocodile Bridge Gate reopens as weather eases in Kruger
Crocodile Bridge Gate reopens today, Thursday 22 January 2026, for day visitors as severe weather conditions ease across parts of Limpopo and Mpumalanga, including Kruger National Park. SANParks cautions that conditions remain dynamic, noting a compromised dam wall outside the park that could change access at short notice. Authorities are monitoring the situation and will communicate further updates as needed.
All gravel roads remain closed for safety and infrastructure protection, and visitors are urged not to remove barricades. Malelane, Numbi and Paul Kruger gates are open with entry quotas in place, while Phabeni Gate remains closed. The park’s southern and northern sections are still cut off, with Tshokwane Picnic Site, Satara Rest Camp and the northern regions not accessible. Guests are asked to carry out their waste as operations remain under pressure following recent flooding, and to follow all instructions and signage.
