Conservationist Stanley Johnson Visits Desert & Delta Safaris
Stanley Johnson, the renowned conservationist and author, recently experienced Botswana’s majestic wilderness, visiting several remarkable safari destinations with Desert & Delta Safaris. Reinforcing the intersection between responsible tourism and environmental stewardship, he encountered the diverse ecosystems that define the country’s natural heritage and saw firsthand how Desert & Delta’s CARES philosophy (Customers, Africa, Responsibility, Employees and Sustainability) drives an inspiring approach to community and conservation.
During his stay, Johnson also met many of the employees who embody the CARES philosophy in action—Botswana citizens empowered through Desert & Delta’s long-standing localisation and training initiatives, including members of Chobe Game Lodge’s pioneering all-female guiding team. Their stories of growth and leadership offered a personal insight into how CARES shapes not only conservation and community upliftment but also the company’s proud legacy of empowerment.
Known for his lifelong dedication to environmental causes and a writing career spanning 26 published books, Johnson’s visit included stays at three of Desert & Delta’s exceptional lodges, experiencing the harmony between people, wildlife, and the land. Desert & Delta Safaris was delighted to host Stanley Johnson, whose passion for conservation and environmental advocacy deeply mirrors the company’s own ethos. His experience showcased how the CARES philosophy forms the backbone of Desert & Delta’s operations, guiding everything from community engagement and habitat preservation to the people who bring Botswana’s hospitality to life.
