Children in the Wilderness (CITW) Namibia, in partnership with Swiss mining company IXM Metals, has inaugurated four new classrooms and a storage facility at WJD Cloete Combined School in Rietoog, southern Namibia. The NAD1.4 million project, completed between November and December 2025, addresses a critical shortage of classroom space at the school, which has been a CITW partner institution since 2008.

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Minister of Gender Equality and Child Welfare Dr Emma Kantema-Gaomas, Hardap Governor Riaan McNab, and representatives from Wilderness Namibia and IXM. The project aligns with Wilderness' broader Impact strategy, which focuses on education, youth empowerment and sustainable community development - reflecting the organisation's position that investment in education underpins long-term conservation and community resilience across Namibia.
