Cape Town has partnered with Norse Atlantic Airways to promote the city as a prime destination for UK travellers. The collaboration coincides with Norse's new London-Cape Town route, set to launch on 28 October 2024.

Alderman James Vos, Cape Town's Mayoral Committee Member for Economic Growth, announced that the city's 'Choose Cape Town' campaign will feature on 40 London black cabs throughout November. The eye-catching displays will showcase Cape Town's attractions and include QR codes inside the cabs, allowing passengers to book flights directly.

Norse Atlantic Airways will operate three weekly flights from London Gatwick to Cape Town, breaking the existing duopoly on this route. CEO Bjorn Tore Larsen emphasised the airline's commitment to making travel more accessible and affordable.

Ticket prices for the new route are competitive, with round-trip Economy fares starting at approximately R11,000, excluding peak December periods. Premium class return tickets are priced around R21,000.

This innovative marketing approach aims to boost tourism and investment in Cape Town while offering travellers more affordable options to experience the Mother City.
