Cape Town International hits 10 million passengers per year mark
Airports Company South Africa has announced that Cape Town International Airport (CTIA) processed over 10 million passengers in the 2023/2024 financial year, a new record. This milestone was reached by handling the highest number of international and regional passengers since the COVID-19 pandemic, exceeding 320,000 passengers in March 2024 alone.
ACSA's regional general manager Mark Maclean expressed enthusiasm over the airport's remarkable performance, citing a steady increase in passenger volumes and a resurgence in activity during the peak season. To accommodate this growth, CTIA is enhancing its infrastructure and facilities, including plans for a new runway, terminal upgrades and refurbishments.
While the expansion process will take time, Maclean thanked passengers for their continued support as the airport invests to further elevate the passenger experience and enable CTIA's continued growth.
