Côte d'Ivoire Moves to Digitalise Tourism Sector with National eTourism Platform

Côte d'Ivoire is advancing plans to launch a national eTourism platform in partnership with U.S.-based technology firm Cybastion, following high-level talks with Tourism Minister Siandou Fofana and senior ministry officials. The platform, aligned with the country's Sublime Côte d'Ivoire tourism brand, will offer a centralised digital interface enabling users to plan, book, and manage travel across the country, with integrated payment systems and destination review tools. An accelerated implementation strategy has been outlined, with the platform expected to go live later this year.

The initiative forms part of Cybastion's broader Digital Fast Track programme, focused on advancing digital sovereignty across Africa through scalable technology solutions. Led by Cybastion's Executive Director of Tourism Fatoumata Komah, next-phase priorities include system integration, stakeholder onboarding, and capacity building for both ministry staff and private sector operators. Officials say the platform aims to address longstanding structural challenges in the country's tourism ecosystem - including fragmented service offerings, limited digital visibility, and inefficiencies in revenue collection - while attracting greater international visitor numbers and supporting local businesses across the tourism value chain.
