Botswana has pledged to tackle infrastructure challenges in its tourism sector, positioning it as a strategic economic driver beyond mining. Speaking at the 2025 Hospitality and Tourism Association of Botswana Annual Conference in Maun, President Duma Boko highlighted the need for improved infrastructure to fully realise tourism’s potential, suggesting the sector could eventually surpass diamonds in contributing to the country’s GDP.
