Boeing Opens African Office in Addis Ababa

Boeing has officially launched its new African office in Addis Ababa, signalling the company's deepening commitment to the continent’s aviation sector. The announcement was made on 23 April 2025 by Ethiopia’s Ministry of Transport and Logistics, with Minister Alemu Sime describing the move as a key milestone both for Boeing’s global strategy and for Ethiopia’s role in advancing regional connectivity.
The office inauguration reflects Ethiopia’s growing importance in aviation, supported by infrastructure and logistics development under the country’s ten-year transport sector plan. The event was attended by senior industry figures including Boeing’s regional president Kuljit Gatta, U.S. Ambassador Ervin Masinga, and Ethiopian Airlines CEO Mesfin Tasew, underscoring the strategic significance of Boeing's investment in supporting sustainable growth across Africa’s air transport industry.
