Belmond Safaris appoints Claudia Rodrigues as General Manager of Eagle Island Lodge

With our property-first approach and the focus on elevating property brands and guest excellence, Belmond Safaris is delighted to announce that Claudia Rodrigues has joined as the General Manager of Eagle Island Lodge and Maun Office.

In her role, Claudia reports to Tiago Sarmento, Managing Director for Southern Africa, and is responsible for driving operation and guest excellence, nurturing local talent and strengthening connections and support to the local community.

Claudia comes to Belmond with extensive operations background in hospitality, leisure and hotel industry. She spent the past 17 years as General Manager in Fiji, Papua New Guinea, Spain and Vietnam. Before joining Belmond, Claudia held the position of Operations Director for the Barbuda Ocean Club in Antigua and Barbuda where she led the charge in developing and setting up operation systems for two locations. In 2019, Claudia served as General Manager for two Topas Ecolodge properties in Vietnam; both are members of National Geographic’s “Lodges of the World” - programme that formerly accredited properties known for their commitment to sustainable tourism.
