Azura Marlin Beach: New Luxury Villa Resort for Benguerra Island
Azura Retreats, a boutique hotel group in Mozambique, has announced the launch of its newest property, Azura Marlin Beach, in May 2025. Located on the southwest shore of Benguerra Island in the Bazaruto Archipelago, the resort is built on the site of the former Marlin Lodge, which was destroyed by fire in 2012. The new luxury retreat will feature 10 air-conditioned villas, including six 100-square-metre Beach Villas, three larger Beach Villas Grande accommodating families, and the expansive 380-square-metre Villa Vista, complete with a private pool.
Azura Marlin Beach’s main lodge will offer a restaurant, lounge bar, swimming pool, relaxation areas, and a PADI 5-Star dive centre. Guests can enjoy a wide range of activities, including snorkelling and diving at Two-Mile Reef, dhow sailing, deep-sea fishing, and beach picnics. Visitors will also have access to the spa at the nearby Azura Benguerra Island, further enhancing the appeal of this luxury destination. The resort’s debut is expected to attract high-end travellers seeking exceptional experiences in one of Mozambique's most picturesque archipelagos.
