Angola to Host GTF Investment Summit in Luanda in June
Angola will host the Global Tourism Forum (GTF) Investment Summit in Luanda from 17 to 19 June 2026, bringing together more than 1,000 high-level participants including sovereign wealth funds, institutional investors, tourism ministers and global business executives. The event will feature panel discussions, closed-door roundtables and B2B meetings, with tourism positioned as a driver of broader economic transformation. Originally scheduled for May, the summit was rescheduled to June due to the ongoing Middle East crisis, which affected international travel and scheduling, while also allowing for an expanded programme and wider international participation.
The summit builds on Angola's growing international profile, including its role as the official host country of ITB Berlin 2026 earlier this year. Key sectors on the agenda include hospitality, aviation, smart cities, renewable energy and digital transformation, reflecting how tourism investment increasingly intersects with wider development strategies. Angola's reform-driven economic agenda, expanding infrastructure and natural resources are central to its pitch as an emerging investment destination, with recent developments - such as the announcement of the Luanda Grand Prix for electric boat racing - further reinforcing the country's strategy to attract international capital through tourism and innovation.
