Airlink to increase Johannesburg - Vilanculos flights to meet rising demand.
Airlink, Southern Africa’s premier airline, will increase return flights between Johannesburg and Vilanculos, Mozambique, to 11 a week from 08 January 2024.
Airlink currently operates a daily service on the route. The decision to add another flight every Monday, Wednesday, Friday and Sunday is in response to increased demand for direct services to the popular Indian Ocean coastal resort. Airlink flies its comfortable and efficient Embraer E-Jets and Regional Jets on the route.
The schedule change will however see the cancellation of direct flights between Mbombela (formerly Nelspruit) and Vilanculos after 05 January 2024.
“As the premier regional airline, Airlink sets out to provide travellers with the connections they desire. The market for combined bush and beach holidays is highly seasonal and as a result, we are transferring capacity to the Johannesburg-Vilanculos service which has shown significant traffic demand. Customers who would have travelled directly from Mbombela to Vilanculos will still be able to combine their bush safaris and exotic beach experiences, using our convenient connections through our Johannesburg-OR Tambo International hub,” explained Airlink CEO and Managing Director, Rodger Foster.
From 08 January 2024 Airlink will operate this expanded schedule of Johannesburg (JNB)-Vilanculos (VNX) flights:
Flt No. Day of the week From Dep To Arr
4Z 260 1234567 JNB 11:35 VNX 13:05
