Airlink Launches First Scheduled Lanseria to Harare Service from November
Airlink will introduce three weekly flights between Johannesburg's Lanseria International Airport and Harare, Zimbabwe, from 15 November 2026, marking the first scheduled airline service between the two cities. The route will be operated by an Embraer E190 configured for 6 Business Class and 92 Economy passengers, departing Lanseria on Mondays, Thursdays and Saturdays, and returning from Harare on Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays. Bookings are already open for the new service, which will also be Airlink's first scheduled operation from Lanseria.
The new route complements Airlink's existing Johannesburg - Harare services operating out of OR Tambo International Airport and is aimed at travellers based on the western side of Gauteng and the North-West Province. CEO de Villiers Engelbrecht noted that the Johannesburg - Harare corridor averaged around 60,000 seats per month in 2025, making it one of the busiest routes in Southern Africa, with a significant share of that demand originating within Lanseria's catchment area. The airline said the service will include complimentary meals and refreshments, with no middle seats and generous legroom across all cabin classes.
