Airlines suspend Madagascar flights amid civil unrest
Emirates has suspended its Dubai – Antananarivo service via Seychelles until further notice due to ongoing unrest in Madagascar. The carrier cancelled flights EK707/708 and is rebooking affected customers, advising passengers to verify contact details via Manage Your Booking for updates as it continues to monitor the situation.
Other airlines have also adjusted operations: Air France suspended Paris Charles de Gaulle – Antananarivo services to 13 October inclusive, while Air Austral halted its Reunion – Madagascar route on Saturday, with some services maintained on Sunday. The disruptions follow an army mutiny near Antananarivo and nationwide protests since 25 September. The situation is impacting air access to Madagascar and may affect itineraries, connections and on‑the‑ground operations.
