Air Zimbabwe targets June 2026 restart of Harare – London route
Air Zimbabwe aims to restart direct Harare – London flights by June 2026, according to Mutapa Investment Fund CEO John Mangudya. Announcing the target during a public lecture at the Harare Institute of Technology, he said the national carrier is preparing to increase domestic, regional and international frequencies.
Mangudya noted that the Government has authorised the sale of a Boeing 777 to fund a smaller aircraft for domestic services and is arranging a facility to lease a larger jet for long-haul operations, with the London route earmarked for deployment. He described the UK link as among Africa’s most lucrative, adding that renewed connectivity could support tourism and revive export flows such as horticulture.
